How much does it cost for a Kids Thumbs Up review?   Top of page
All reviews are free!

Are all requests for reviews accepted?   Top of page
No. Products must be appropriate for children between the ages of 5-18. Kid Reviewers will choose which items they want to review. They only review products and services that they are genuinely interested in and they support. Also, product reviews are accepted on a first come-first served basis. Kid Reviewers do not review products that have already received a Kids Thumbs Up Award.

If our product is reviewed, can we use the Kids Thumbs Up Award logo? Top of page
Yes. After your review is published online, you will receive a link to download the Kids Thumbs Up Award logo. This logo is only awarded to products and services that have been reviewed. No other use is permitted. If your product or service has been accepted and reviewed, you are also allowed to include the logo on your packaging materials, website, social media, and other marketing for your products.

Are reviews ever negative?       Top of page
No. Reviews are 100% positive and only awarded to products and services that kids genuinely find useful, interesting and fun! Kids will sometimes offer suggestions for improvements, but that does not imply any dissatisfaction with the products or services.

How long do the reviews need to be?     Top of page
Reviews only need to be 25 - 120 words. Use the Ideas Page to help describe about your product or service that you are reviewing. Be positive and specific.

How long does it take for a company's request for a product review to be decided? Top of page
There are two levels of approval. After receiving your request, you will hear back with 1-2 weeks with an initial answer if your request has been accepted or declined for review. Once a request has been approved and the Kid Reviewer receives your sample product in the mail, he/she will have 2-3 weeks to use the product or service to determine if it is something that he/she feels positive about reviewing. If the Kid Reviewer is not 90-100% impressed with the product or service, you will be notified that the review will not be posted online. You will receive feedback if you'd like why the Kid Reviewer was less than impressed.

Can I talk directly to a Kid Reviewer?   Top of page
Not before a review is published. We create a buffer between companies and reviewers to guarantee unbiased opinions. If you have questions or concerns after a review is published, we can facilitate communication with Kid Reviewers.

Once a review is published, can we have it altered or removed if we request?  Top of page
Reviews will not be altered unless there is a typographical error or incorrect fact about the product. These will be fixed within 24-48 hours of being informed as we strive to provide the most accurate information possible about your products or services. If you would like for the review to be removed, you simply need to let us know and we will be glad to do so within 24-48 hours as well.

Can we submit multiple reviews from our company? Top of page
It depends. We would generally prefer to review only one product from your company unless a Kid Reviewer has requested additional products. The exceptions would be if your company is very large and offers a diverse range in products (Toys-R-Us, Mindware or Barnes & Noble).

Do Kid Reviewers get paid? Top of page
No. All reviews are written by volunteers. However, if Kid Reviewers receive a sample product to review, he/she gets to keep it.
